After a very long conversation where I tried to explain the importance of Banksy and Shepard Fairey to my very Bostonian father, I got to thinking that maybe this town could use a course in cool.
Last Saturday, the BCAE partnered with DigBoston to host “Street Wise,” a day-long workshop dedicated to street culture. Participants got schooled in everything from street art and graffiti, to b-boying (that’s breakdancing, son!) and parkour, from some of the most reputable street artists in the Hub, including: well known graffiti artist Rob Larsen; Lino Delgado, Floorlords Urban Dance Theater director and head choreographer; and members of New England Parkour.
Check out some footage from a New England Parkour class at the BCAE below!
